Great coverage, girls. I wish I was there with you for the viewing, but then your vlog would have been sullied by my swear words. Oh Obama. I am so, so, so very disappointed.
Here's the thing about Obama. He's had me because of his rhetoric. He's had me because of his ability to rally people to unity and hopefulness, the whole new day, and all he purports to stand for. Then for him to say that he wants to "disentangle" the word marriage from civil rights was such a huge blow. It will cost him my vote. The power of his language was what set him apart from his biggest competitor--Hillary. So to take the position that marriage is just a word means, to me, that he has lost all credibility. I did not expect something different from Hillary, but I did from him. He misled me.
To me, giving couples full civil union rights but not calling it marriage is like giving someone full voting rights but not calling them an American. The bottom line is: you're still not not of us.
He can't cash in on personally "understanding" that and then not step up.
Credibility--gone.
I thought he was another Paul Wellstone. But he's not.
